Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 2026
ExamPilot is committed to making education accessible to everyone. We believe that all learners, regardless of ability, should be able to use our platform effectively. This statement outlines our current accessibility efforts and our plans for improvement.
1. Our Commitment
We are working towards conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines help us ensure that our platform is perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust for users with a wide range of abilities, including those who use assistive technologies.
2. What We Currently Support
- Keyboard navigation — all core features can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse.
- Screen reader labels — we use ARIA labels and semantic HTML to provide meaningful descriptions for screen reader users.
- Colour contrast — our design targets sufficient colour contrast ratios to ensure text and interface elements are readable for users with low vision or colour deficiencies.
- Responsive design — the platform adapts to different screen sizes and zoom levels, supporting users who need to enlarge content.
3. Extended Time Mode
For our FlashTest feature (timed quizzes and practice exams), we offer an extended time mode that gives users additional time to complete assessments. This feature is available to all users with no verification required — we operate on an honour system. We believe that removing barriers is more important than gatekeeping accommodations.
4. Known Gaps
We are aware that some areas of the platform are not yet fully accessible. In particular, some complex quiz interactions (such as drag-and-drop ordering and multi-part scenario questions) may not work perfectly with all assistive technologies. We are actively working to improve these experiences and welcome your feedback on any barriers you encounter.
5. Our Roadmap
Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, not a one-time effort. Our plans include:
- Quarterly accessibility audits to identify and address issues across the platform.
- Continuous improvements to keyboard navigation and screen reader support for interactive study features.
- Incorporating accessibility testing into our development process for all new features.
- Listening to user feedback and prioritising the accessibility improvements that matter most.
6. Feedback
We take every accessibility report seriously. If you encounter a barrier while using ExamPilot, or if you have suggestions for how we can improve, please let us know. Your feedback directly shapes our accessibility roadmap.
