Intellectual Property Policy
Last updated: April 2026
This policy explains how intellectual property is handled on the ExamPilot platform, including our own IP, AI-generated content, user-uploaded content, and how to report potential infringement.
1. ExamPilot Platform IP
All intellectual property associated with the ExamPilot platform — including but not limited to our source code, software architecture, visual design, user interface, branding, logos, trademarks, and AI models — is owned by ExamPilot and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the platform without our express written permission.
2. AI-Generated Content
Study materials generated by our AI (including flashcards, quizzes, notes, and practice exams) are provided to you under a limited, personal, non-transferable educational licence. This means you may use this content for your own study and exam preparation, but you may not sell it, redistribute it, publish it, or share it commercially. This licence is revocable and terminates when your account is closed or your subscription ends.
3. User-Uploaded Content
You retain full ownership of any content you upload to ExamPilot, such as notes, documents, or study materials. By uploading content, you grant ExamPilot a limited, non-exclusive licence to process, store, and analyse that content solely for the purpose of providing our services to you (for example, generating personalised study materials from your uploaded notes).
We do not sell or share your uploaded content with third parties. Your content is used only to power your personal ExamPilot experience. If you delete your account, your uploaded content will be removed from our systems within 30 days.
4. DMCA and Takedown Notices
If you believe that content on ExamPilot infringes your intellectual property rights, you may submit a takedown notice to dmca@exampilot.help. Your notice should include the following:
- Content URL — a link to the specific content you believe infringes your rights.
- Your contact details — your full name, email address, and (if applicable) the organisation you represent.
- Description of the infringement — a clear explanation of what intellectual property is being infringed and how.
- Good-faith statement — a statement that you believe in good faith that the use of the content is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
We will review all valid takedown notices promptly and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the content in question.
5. Counter-Notices
If you believe that content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to dmca@exampilot.help. Your counter-notice should include your contact information, a description of the removed content, and a statement explaining why you believe the removal was a mistake. If your counter-notice is valid and no further action is taken by the original complainant, we will reinstate the content within 10 business days.
